Kirby: Mouse attack

Okay so i don’t particularly remember how many Kirby games I’ve reviewed (twoif I recall correctly) but here’s one for ya anyways. X3

It’s a cool game, very SNES in it’s character but with a lovely new twist. I have to say the things I’ve liked about all the Kirby DS games I’ve played are usually to do with all the extra stuff you can get, and with this game I found that I felt the same way. I dig the colours you can unlock for Kirby, (my personal fave being the snow colour, it’s so cool XD ) and all the artwork is pretty rad too.

But even having said that, this time the collections weren’t the highlight of the game for me. Now as I said before, the gameplay is very SNES-esque, but like most Kirby DS games I’ve played, the stylus is made good use of. I love how in Mouse attack you can basically store up to five items (in bubbles) on the bottom screen and use them when you please. Not only that but you can actually mix bubbles of the same type too! For example you can mix two food bubbles to get better food, or two powers to get a different power. Woah!

lol yeah it’s aa great game for hoarders such as myself. hehehe. X3 And just an end note…look out for the new powers, you’ve still got the old basics, like fire bomb and whatnot but now, there’s extra, like tornado and bubble. :D Seriously, play it, its good, well except for the storyline but that’s just funny in a way, you’ll see.

>_o … o_<… >_o … see ya. X3

Gardening mama…lol

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

Well what is this I’ve just played? Gardening mama, relative of cooking mama? yes. I don’t like it! DX

Let me not be too mean about this game, it’s not terrible, but then again, I’m trying to speak from the point of view of your run-of-the-mill ten year old girl. Sure it’s okay for kids who are easilly entertained, but for me it was both too easy and uber confusing. For example, one of the ‘missions’ is to shovel soil, it’s as simple as putting the shovel into the soil and taking it out again, sounds easy enough? yeah? wrong, ’cause then it asks you to shovel to different sizes…WTH? I don’t know how to do that, geez.

But I dunno, maybe someone who looks at things more simply would understand how to do such a thing, Well honestly, I didn’t play more than 2 or 3 ‘missions’ so I don’t even have much to right about this game, but I’ll leave you with one thing. Don’t buy this for yourself, buy it for a kid of 4 to 9 years old. Seriously, it’s boring unless you’re a kid.

Possibly even boring for a kid. >_>

Grand theft auto: China town wars

Okay so aaaages ago I posted about a GTA game that was to be released on the DS. Well it happened and it’s hrere and I’ve played it and it’s awesome!

For starters it’s way different from the playstation versions, in terms of graphics (but of course it would be since the DS just doesn’t have that kind of graphical ability) and in terms of Gameplay (Which seriously makes up for the graphics.) The driving walking controls are pretty much the same, but the camera takes a bit of getting used to since it’s pretty much at a birds eye point of view, but once that’s over an done with, the fun can really begin. X3

The developers used the touch screen in the this game cleverly to make it more interactive, but not in a burdensome way if you know what I mean. Little things like buying and using scratch cards, hot wiring cars and searching through dumpsters make the game that little bit more fun. Ah and how could I forget the good old PDA system with built in GPS, very nice indeed, that has all kinds of useful stuff associated with it, including an online Ammunation!

As usual in addition to the main missions, you have several side missions to, they’re pretty much thrown in for comic relief, but they’re so cool. My personal favourite has to be the one were you have to ditch some girl who for some reason thinks she’s your girlfriend. X3 But even that can’t over shadow the main side mission - the drugs trade - oooooh. Nothing serious of course lol, you just go around interacting with dealers buying and selling a variety of contraband to make a profit. It’s a good thing too because there’s a lot of property to buy and the missions pay peanuts lol. But seriously it’s fun try it, only in the game though!

One last note on the game, and it has to be the police system. they actually managed to make it fun! yes, it;s true, you can get a 6 star wanted level and survive without needing 3 armored trucks, and the best thing is it’s a system that makes sense. Basically every time you get a wanted level you have to destroy a certain number of police cars for that level to make it go down. Destroying the cars can usually be done by some skillful driving to make a pursuing officer crash into a wall. Very cool idea I reckon.

Gosh there was so much I liked about this game I spent hours on end playing it. I only wish it could have been longer. D:
