Big Brian Academy

Big Brian Academy

So here we have a game, that’s more colourful than Brain Training, more fun the Maths Training, and more gripping than the two of them combined. Yes, here we have the lovely Big Brain Academy.

The competitive edge this game has is what keeps me going, trying to get a higher brain weight than the rest of your family spurs you on. That is, at least until you win, then it’s just nice to feel like your brain is actually being exercised. But for me that’s all it feels like. Unlike with Brain Training, that actually makes me feel like I’m getting smarter, Big Brain Academy makes me just feel like my brain is getting the odd run around each time I play.

But functionality aside, it’s a fun non-game. Actually no, I think BBA could actually be classed as a game, given how fun the little puzzles are. And what kind of non-game has even been so colourful? (Memo to self, find a non game more colourful than BBA).

However, as awesome as this ‘game’ is, I really can’t think of much to say about it. It’s not actually that amazing you see, it’s just another lovely brain game. So here’s my advice: Get it if you don’t like the look of Brain training and are looking for some nice and light hearted that you can play with your friends. Other wise get Brain Training. Or better yet if  you’re just looking for puzzles, get professor Layton. X3

DS Ferret news for the month that is November.

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

I don’t know if I have any regular readers for this site yet, but if I do, you’ve probably noticed that I don’t update nearly as much as I used too. D: (I know it’s terrible) So I decided to put together a post updating you readers about what’s going on with the site. I’ll probably throw one up here each month for good measure, so be expecting them. X3

Well firstly, why haven’t I been updating much? Well that’s down to a few things. Mostly the fact that my laptop is still out of commission, and partially because, due to my laptop being out of commission, I haven’t been able to get as much computer time under my belt. D: BUT fear not, I’ll make sure I update more regularly now, especially since I just got a large chunk of school work out of the way. =3 (Also I’ve become slightly addicted to a psp game, but let’s not mention that, hmm? ^^;)

Nextly, I’ve come across some very very good news for Kingdom hearts fans. =3 Okay, well nothing hugely different from what we already know, but Kingdom hearts 358/2 days has more or less been confirmed for it’s European release in July 2009! (According to Nintendo official magazine that is.)  X3

And lastly, what’s to come on DS Ferret. Well I’m planning a few refurbishments, so once I get access to another laptop I’ll be redesigning the site and hopefully making it look a lot prettier. Also I’ve got a few more game reviews for you including Big Brain Academy, Wario Ware Touched, and a certain psp game that is so awesome that I have to blab about it here. X3

Until then guys, bye.

Rhythm Heaven

Rhythm Heaven

A while back I posted about a neat little rhythm game, that I personally could find no fault with, called Rhythm Tengoku Gold. Well after scouring VGReleases.com for a bit I stumbled across a couple of expected European and U.S. release dates of the English version of the game. i.e. Rhythm Heaven.

I ran right over here and had to post about it because even though I’ve played and completed the Japanese version, the idea of it coming to England is still awesome. X3 Tough I must say I’m interested to know what they’re going to do about the Japanese song lyrics. Even though it’d be kind of cool if they left them as they are, I’m sure quite a few of the English gaming community could have issues with it. Thus I imagine they’ll change at least some of the songs, I just hope they’re as good as the originals.

Now this is all very good news, but we’re gonna have to wait for it. D: The expected European release, (according to VGReleases.com) is th 27th of February 2009, while the U.S. release is expected for the second quarter of 2009. I say let cross our fingers and hope the dates don’t change for the worse.
